Why Hello! Thanks for Visiting.
I'm Makayla—a wife, daughter, sister, friend, and mother of four. I'm also a dedicated Spinal Flow Practitioner and was the first practitioner to gain certification in Toowoomba. My mission is to guide people towards healing their bodies and making transformative changes in their lives. I believe my passion for helping people heal came about because of my health crisis and working to recover from the ramifications of a very stressful time over the years. I am a work in progress but I now know how to support my body to heal.
My passion lies in addressing the root causes of issues rather than merely masking them, and I firmly believe that the nervous system plays a pivotal role in this process. I also believe in prevention as the best form of taking care of health rather than getting to the point where we seek a cure.
I draw upon my education across several modalities, my ongoing professional development in the Spinal Flow Technique and years of hands-on experience to offer a broad spectrum of knowledge and support to those seeking healing and transformation using the Spinal Flow Technique. In 2024 we welcome Shelly Hartwig to Metanoia Spinal Flow. You can read more about Shelly below.
I would love to see you in my studio soon. Bookings are available online, or you can contact us; we are happy to help.

Meet
Shelly
My name is Shelly Hartwig, and I grew up outside Warwick on a Murray Grey Stud called "Misty Downs." I had a wonderful childhood riding horses and doing cattle work with my family. My mother had an alternative health focus and worked as a Chiropractic Assistant in the early 80s before owning a Health Food Shop in Warwick in the early 90s. Her beliefs and wisdom have always been my foundation, and I have always sought alternate, holistic health solutions for myself and my children in addition to conventional/western medicine when necessary.
In the winter of 2023, while recovering from an illness, I discovered the Spinal Flow® Technique and decided to follow my dream of moving into the Health and Wellness Industry. I trained with Dr. Carli Axford, the developer of the modality, and I am now a fully certified Spinal Flow Practitioner.
As well as working with Makayla at Metanioa Spinal Flow, I've opened a clinic in Plainby, located between Crows Nest and Goombungee, called High Country Healing ~ Spinal Flow, where my clients range in age from newborns to seniors. When I'm not working in the clinic, I jointly manage our stud Limousin operation, "Gold Crest Limousins," with my husband. I also enjoy spending time with our grown-up children and their families.
I look forward to meeting you,
Shelly
Your Commitment to
Healing
We highly recommend working with us for more than one session. Commitment and dedication yield incredible results.
While one session can bring about change, having multiple sessions helps your body deal with deeper stress that's hidden beneath the surface. It also allows your body to become more familiar with the process, leading to a decrease in blockages and an increase in life force energy throughout the system.
We often ask our clients, “Are you willing to make those changes in your life to allow your body the space to heal—even if it is inconvenient?”
